Office, coworking and business centre in Andorra: what the law requires and what the bank expects

The short answer
An Andorran company must have its registered office in Andorra. A coworking space or business centre may be enough for a consultancy activity or a holding company, but not for an activity with premises open to the public, and it never replaces real substance.
The legal requirement
Andorran companies must have their registered office within the territory of the Principality. This address is entered in the companies register and is used for notifications. If the company carries on a commercial, industrial or service activity, it must also obtain authorisation from the Comú where the establishment will be located, then from the government, and register in the commercial and industrial register. See domiciliation.
Which solution for which project
| Need | Plausible solution | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Holding company, shareholding company | Domiciliation or office in a business centre | Substance and decisions taken in Andorra: see substance |
| Consulting, development, content creation | Coworking or private office | Real team and clients; activity authorisation if required |
| Retail, catering, crafts | Own or rented premises | Authorisation tied to the premises, health and accessibility requirements |
| Professional with international projection status | Head office or base of activity in Andorra | Condition of the law: see the page |
What the bank and the administration look at
- A real activity: clients, suppliers, flows consistent with the address.
- Resources on site: a workstation, a team or an agent, a lease or service contract.
- The director: do they live in Andorra? Where do they sign and make decisions?
- The consistency of the file: see business account.
A simple letterbox, with no activity or resources, is the typical example of a structure that gets challenged, by banks and by tax authorities alike.
How to choose an offer
- Ask in writing what is included (dedicated workstation, meeting room, mail, length of commitment).
- Check that the contract lets you prove the registered office to the register and to the administration.
- Compare with a private office: the cost of a real place is small compared with the risk of a bank refusal.
- Avoid long contracts before the activity authorisation is obtained.
For a non-resident
Domiciliation replaces neither the foreign investment authorisation (2 monthsverified on 09/10/2026 for a decision, silence = refusal) nor the director's residence: see setting up a company without living there. We do not publish coworking prices for lack of an official source; ask for written quotes.

Frequently asked questions
Can an Andorran company be domiciled in a coworking space?
Yes, if the contract allows you to prove the registered office and the activity does not require authorised premises; real substance is still necessary.
Is a domiciliation enough to open a bank account?
No: the bank examines the real activity, the resources on site and the residence of the directors.
